Press Release Body = Juliette, Georgia - December 17, 2006 - Southern Humorist Ed Williams announces the winner of The First Ever Flusher Christmas Deuce Contest. The contest was held to help one of Ed's many Flusher friends have a unique and personalized present to give to the person of their choice for Christmas. Out of 85+ entries, the MySpace registered contestants had to offer a reason on why they should receive the two autographed copies of Ed's book, Rough As A Cob: More From the Juliette Journals. People from across North America responded, as did international friends from Australia, Croatia, India, Holland, England, New Zealand, and France.
With barely 24 hours remaining in the contest, Zvonka Lisak, a kindergarten teacher, from Zagreb, Croatia (Hrvatska), submitted her compelling entry, quoted in part:
\"...A big greeting from the other side of the world, a little, far and forgotten Croatia. I said 'forgotten' because there are no bookstores I could buy your book in Croatia... and there are no possibilities to buy it through the Internet because there\'s no American book distributor who delivers the book to individual buyers in Croatia.
My love and passion for American South comes from my experience of living there a bit longer than 7 months. I fell in love with South, most wonderful beaches, beautiful weather, the way people talk on South... I still don\'t understand many Southern expressions, but the book should help in picking them up!
...So, that\'s the answer for all the errors you encountered in this text above.
The book would be a kind of an 'English course' for me and would bring me back to American South by its magic.
...I miss America, especially South incredibly... I miss the friendliest people I have ever met who live there on South, I miss palm trees, creeks, sand in my shoes and even mosquitos. Zvonka\"
